I am a have been a proud educator at UCSD for 3 years, teaching Public Speaking and Acting to 20 talented undergraduate students. I freelance as a teaching artist offering instruction in acting, public speaking, dance, and audition prep.

  • I would say Kya's greatest strength as an instructor was her ability to connect with us as people, especially considering that this is an acting class. Through her personal excitement for acting and the enthusiasm she put into the work herself I found myself excited to come to class and hear what she had to say.   • I have never had a better instructor than Kya. From the beginning, Kya was professional and enlivened the class with her energy and theater activities. I appreciated how she would take control of our class during the first few weeks when discussions would go way off topic. All of the feedback I have received about scenes has been extremely helpful and specific, so I was able to apply it and improve upon my scene work. Class was always organized, and Kya always brought her humor to every situation to make every class session both memorable and super enjoyable. So many of the things she has said from the beginning of the quarter have stuck with me.
